Title: Letter of Appreciation from Chinese Class Participants
To: Taiwan-Vietnam Economic, Cultural and Educational Development Association - Ms. Pin-Chen Wu
Chinese culture and language have sparked my curiosity and lit up my desire to learn and explore Chinese for many years. I am really fortunate to have been introduced to the Chinese language program at Horizon International Language Institute in early July 2021 by Ms. Pin-Chen Wu of the Taiwan-Vietnam Economic and Cultural Education Development Association.
My name is Pham Quang Minh. From the past to the present, I have only been exposed to Chinese culture through books, history, movies, and the Internet. I am very excited and worried to join this Chinese language class. The Chinese language was new to me, the pronunciation and the words seemed very difficult to write and remember, and I had no chance to meet the local Chinese.
I was very happy to be in class with two dedicated teachers, Ms. Jane and Ms. Zhong. I learned a lot of things during the class, and it gave me mixed feelings, from worry, excitement, joy, and warmth. Both teachers gave me a new and familiar perspective on Chinese. Both teachers helped me build a foundation and a love for Mandarin, allowing me to exercise and learn more deeply.
I really liked the way the teachers taught. After the lectures, the teachers would explain in English in the most understandable way. Both teachers bring pictures into the video of each class, creating a very realistic and engaging learning environment. They also divided the Chinese classes into small groups to facilitate practice and communication.
The quality of the Chinese classes is very high and the teachers are very professional. When students have questions about the lessons, the teachers are very helpful in explaining everything to them. From simple words and phrases to complex texts, they explained everything in a way that was easy to understand. The class was very energetic and no one was ignored, so every student had the opportunity to speak and express their own opinions and points of view.
I could clearly see the results of my learning. After one month of online classes, I have mastered a lot of vocabulary and have gained confidence in speaking Chinese.
